Accessibility
Last updated: July 17, 2026
We want everyone — including parents and teachers using assistive technology — to be able to read this site, browse our curricula, and buy from us without barriers. We aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.
What we do
- Structure: semantic HTML with proper headings and landmarks throughout.
- Keyboard: every page and control works without a mouse.
- Images: meaningful images carry alt text; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
- Motion: animations are subtle, and if your device asks for reduced motion, we turn them off entirely.
- Readability: our colors are chosen for contrast, and text scales with your browser settings.
- No interruptions: no cookies, popups, or auto-playing media.
Our products
Our curricula are designed first as print materials — workbooks meant to be held, written in, and torn out. The PDFs we sell are print-oriented and may not work well with screen readers. If that affects you, email us before or after buying and we will do our best to help.
Tell us what's in your way
If any part of this site is hard to use with your assistive technology, we want to know. Email support@desertpalmetto.com and we'll respond and work on a fix.
